I am a year one student of IT for Business in CityU SCOPE.

In this semester, I studied three courses which is Current Technology(119COM), Introduction to Computing Technology(121COM), and Business Decision Making(126COM).

1. My course is helping me to prepare for my career in IT by letting me learn about the basic knowledge and skill of programming and also help me to know more about the actual situation in current.
I will learn any type of skill of programming and business and keep practicing the things that I learn.
I am considering I might be an analyst programmer in today’s job market. It is available to me in my future.
     

Reflection of 121 project

In the group project, we develop an API that benefits business which is a program that can compare the difference between 2 companies simply and finishing the analysis with a shorter time because we chose the area of value for its customer.

First, we do the research into the recent business trend of online business and found that there is a trend to use APP and API because of their convenience and they have a great benefit on marketing benefit. Then, we target our audience and found that we can develop the API to compare the performance of two companies. That is the value of our program.

Second, because we have different abilities in programming. We have a different contribution to the group, such as there are two groupmates who are more understanding of the programming and another groupmate has ever been in touch with API. Therefore, they mainly focus on design and create the program. Meanwhile, I mainly focus on doing the documentation and do the research and background of API because I do not know well about the program as them. So, I learn from them when they are doing the program. Then, I found that API can simply use the function that I have learned in the lesson. However, it is difficult and complex to show out the data that we want to show to the user. Luckily, my groupmate can fix the problem because of her experience. The group project let me learn so much form my groupmate, not only the technique of doing an API, but also teamwork.

About the reflection of this project, I think I should learn more program operation in the future because I found that I have much sufficient programming. When I face the error in the program, I need the help of my groupmate. Through this project, I have learned what is APP and API. I have more understanding of them, such as the background and the business tend in the future. In addition, I have joined the development of an API in the group project that is I have never tried. Among the development of API, I have learned the process to create the API. We have to follow the step to do the API step by step. Finally, we finish the development of the API which has business value. This all I have learned that is a benefit to my future career.

About my 121 individual assignment

To evaluate my program, assignment of the group, individual, and the knowledge that I learned in the lecture, I have learned so much about the operation and the concept of python, such as the code that I used in my program. However, those codes are base on the concept like the object-oriented program. I have learned the class, attributes, __init__, and many other methods. Furthermore, I have learned quite many codes to write the program but I know I am still learning the basic thing. There are a lot of things that I need to learn and some more difficult concepts. So that, my individual program assignment still have lots of limitation which showed the error separately sometimes.
